Dubai

We are on our final holiday destination, and we won’t leave out the city best known for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality – Dubai!

UAE is home to around 7.8 million expatriates hailing from different parts of the world, and a majority of them are living in Dubai. Expats, particularly Europeans and Asians, have marked a notable presence in the city, which highly influenced how it became one of the best destinations during Christmas season.

Who says you can’t experience a winter wonderland in the desert?

The Versailles Gardens at The St. Regis Dubai in Al Habtoor City doesn’t disappoint with its festive-themed Winter Garden Market. The market’s yuletide decorations, illuminated by a sea of glittering lights, are truly impressive.

It hosts a great variety of retail shops selling gifts and food stalls offering seasonal food. There is an amazing array of activities and attractions perfect for the kids as well, including a snow fight zone with a merry-go-round and a kid’s train, a Santa’s Grotto, Christmas cookie decorating and face painting stations, and many more.

The Winter Garden Market is open to all until December 26.

Fort Island’s Festive Market, in Madinat Jumeirah, is another highly commended magical venue to visit. Spread across Souk Madinat Jumeirah Amphitheatre, it features sparkling lights, a beautifully-decorated tree, a two-lane bungee jump for teenagers, a series of rides, slides, and a North Pole-themed train ride for the little ones, as well as mouthwatering food offered by adjoining award-winning restaurants.

Madinat Jumeirah will host the musical, ‘Miracle on 34th Street,’ at Madinat Theatre from December 19 to 30. There will be a series of exclusive holiday feasts at Arboretum restaurant in Jumeirah Al Qasr and Hanaaya restaurant in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam on December 24 to 25, as well as a Boxing Day Jazz Lunch at Arboretum and Hanaaya on December 26.

Fort Island’s Festive Market is open until December 27.

Bid farewell to 2017 in the most memorable way by watching Dubai’s larger-than-life light displays and awesome fireworks. Witness the spectacular show front seat at At.mosphere in Burj Khalifa or at Atlantis The Palm while enjoying a sumptuous meal.

Beluga at Kempinski Hotel, Palm Jumeirah is the right place to be if you prefer a more laid-back setting. The uninterrupted views of the panoramic fireworks display at the Burj Al Arab will definitely leave you breathless.

We hear Emaar Properties has organized Light Up 2018, a unique laser light show far different from the past fireworks displays. We expect it's going to be another noteworthy spectacle packed with lots of fun surprises so be sure to be there!
